New Nike Colin Kaepernick Ad Features Music By Award Winning Composer Dustin O’Halloran

Nike has licensed Emmy Award winning and Academy Award nominated film and television Composer Dustin O’Halloran’s song,We Move Lightly from his 2011 solo album, Lumiere for their latest powerful “Just Do It” ad campaign featuring NFLer and humanitarian, Colin Kaepernick.

The licensure comes on the heels of Dustin’s latest film score for director, George Tillman Jr.’s The Hate U Give (Amandla Stenberg, Common, Issa Rae), based on Angie Thomas’ 2017 New York Times bestselling novel by the same name.  The film, a Black Lives Matter inspired feature, follows a teenage girl (Stenberg) who witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood friend, Kahlil, at the hands of a white police officer.  The movie will be released in theaters on Oct. 18th.

The Los Angeles raised and based composer, first received widespread exposure for his work on Sofia Coppola’s award-winning 2006 film, Marie Antoinette.  Since that time, Dustin has gone on to score a number of film and television shows, including Drake Doremus’ Like Crazy, and Amazon Prime’s Transparent, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, as well as his Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nominated and AACTA award winning score for the film Lion, for which he collaborated with award-winning film and television composer Volker Bertelmann. The two collaborated again for the score of the upcoming The Art of Racing in the Rain, directed by Simon Curtis.

In 2014, Dustin released his first record as a solo artist, Piano Solos. He has since released three more solo records, the latest of which is Lumiere, which featured contributions by Peter Broderick and Adam Wiltzie (Stars of the Lid), and was mixed by the late Jóhann Jóhannsson.

With A Winged Victory for the Sullen, his project with Adam Wiltzie, Dustin has released two albums, A Winged Victory for the Sullen and Atomos.
