California-bred duo slenderbodies have dropped a luscious cover of the legendary hit “Toxic” by Britney Spears, another signature reworking, following the tranquil cover of MGMT’s “Electric Feel” and their remix of Niall Horan’s “On the Loose” earlier this year. The sensuous cover of the pop princess’ classic is a quick rhythmic ride, destined for the repeat button; another tease for audiences begging for more following the recent announcement of the band’s upcoming fall EP SORAYA, to be released through Los Angeles indie label Avant Garden, which is also home to Emotional Oranges.
This week slenderbodies kicked off their Take You Home World Tour, that’s name stems from the fresh single “Take You Home”, the first track available off SORAYA. Currently, the guys are out with Milky Chance before a headline show back home in Los Angeles at The Roxy on September 12. Then they continue their international route across Europe to London, Amsterdam, and more, with a pit stop in Paris as support for rising indie sensation Liza Anne. In October, they hit the states again for Austin City Limits, and cruise through Atlanta, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Chicago and more. Tickets are on sale now via http://slenderbodi.es.
slenderbodies sing, write, produce, and mix all their own tracks. In the last year, the band has toured with Mura Masa, Passion Pit, and PVRIS. Meanwhile, their debut single “Anemone” has continued to rack up over 15 million collective streams.
