Local fashion guru, Charity Lewis strives to provide high-end services to help individuals develop a confident style and assist local brands by spreading awareness of their designs. She established C.LewStyles to carry out this vision throughout the DFW area and beyond. As a professional nurse, mother, wife, and entrepreneur, each outfit is inspired by her multiple roles in life tailored to be functional and fashionable with a touch of purpose no matter the occasion.

“I enjoy styling others because it encourages and empowers them to be a better version of themselves,” said Lewis. “It’s an investment that opens up a new method to self-care and motivation to attain goals.”

Unlike most stylists, she relies on incorporating different techniques when dressing a client by catering to their desires, nurturing their ambitions, and creating intentional relationships. Her nursing background allows her to play with different fabrics depending on the client’s event to maximize efficiency for the body. She also doesn’t stay on trend as she prioritizes style over fads. Classy, sophisticated, and casual are all words that describe her fashion sense.

Growing up in a religious, Pentecostal household, Lewis was only allowed to wear skirts, dresses, and tops. Since she realized that she couldn’t change these rules, it allowed her to explore styles when it came to finding trendy designs and unique ways to dress them up. Many schoolmates would compare her outfits to other girls who were the same religion and acknowledged Lewis’ unique sense of style. It was the beginning of her revelation into the world of fashion.

In 2014, Lewis got the idea of starting an organization that would allow her to showcase her passions but felt her ideas were too broad. She was determined to help women and young girls in many ways including fashion, healthcare, mentor programs, and building a community to empower each other through workshops and conferences. With so many areas of interest, she didn’t know where to begin. However, she continued to develop a plan for starting a business to achieve all of these goals, specifically through fashion.

At the end of the year, she completed a business boot camp for aspiring wardrobe stylists hosted by celebrity stylist, J. Bolin. She knew what direction she wanted to take her business in upon completion of the camp. A year later, she found out she was expecting and started posting her outfits of the day on social media to showcase that women could still look fabulous while pregnant. And in 2016, she stepped on out on faith, launching her own brand C.LewStyles.

In the two years of launching C.LewStyles and styling, she’s worked with TV Producer of the Daytime Emmy award show, The REAL’s Faith Deggins, former ABC’s Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, co-host of K104, Lady Jade, singer-songwriter Madelyn Brene, founder of Grit Fitness, Brittani Rettig, and more. Her work has also featured on Good Morning Texas, OK! Magazine, CEOMOM Magazine, Kauwuane Burton Studios, and Elegant and Elements Fashion Magazine.

“Initially, I was immediately impressed with how professional she was, and her knowledge and understanding of body shapes was truly phenomenal,” said Creative Director of Kauwuane Burton Studios, London Burton.

Furthering her vision in Dallas was an ideal path for her passion because of the apparent fashion scene. With up and coming brands, distinguished existing brands, and artists, she sees an opportunity to grow in the Metroplex and hopes to provide a way for these creatives to get noticed on a national level.

“I am a servant, living out my purpose and passion,” said Lewis.
