Norwegian pop sensation JIM reveals his new single ‘Lonely’, released via Sailor Music on August 31. ‘Lonely’ is a return to the spotlight for the singer songwriter, who has spent the last 18 months writing and recording for other artists, including Hanne Mjøen who also co-wrote this song, along with Benjamin Giørtz from Kid Astray. ‘Lonely’ is an anthemic tribute to loneliness, which JIM sums up as “a sad scene in a romantic comedy.” It’s a slight change in direction for his solo artist project, but remains true to his core values of uncompromising and bombastic modern pop. “With ‘Lonely’ I wanted to create a song which included feelings everyone can relate to – which is actually easier said than done. I’ve gone for more surprising melodies, sounds and lyrics which I wouldn’t normally use or write”

JIM is 26 year old Jim Bergsted. Growing up in Norway, Jim Bergsted was a central character in all things music orientated in his small town. From DJing in the local youth club at ten years old, playing in bands with his friends from his early teens, to taking over the running of the local music venue; “We did everything ourselves”, he said, “painted bottles, washed floors, booked concerts, rigged PA facilities, called local newspapers, sold tickets, everything”.

Since launching his own music in 2017, JIM has very quickly become a central figure in the burgeoning Norwegian music scene – and as he takes centre stage once again with ‘Lonely’, remains a serious one to watch.
