MIKE SIMONETTI shares new track “Of One Mind” off ‘Solipsism’ out 9.28 via 2MR

Today Mike Simonetti unveils new track “Of One Mind” – the second single from his impending new album Solipsism (Collected Works 2006 – 2013). The LP represents an archival release of music from Simonetti‘s tenure as owner of Italians Do It Better Records (Chromatics, Glass Candy), spanning from 2006 – 2013. During that prolific time, Mike’s music found its way into films, TV commercials, and fashion shows — he even released a record or two.

The eight years covered by Solipsism captures Simonetti’s time launching and developing his cult melting pot imprint Italians Do It Better. Now, with time behind him and exciting new ventures such as his 2MR label and synth duo Pale Blue, the Jersey tastemaker, artist, DJ and label owner is able to look back and reflect on the music behind the sometimes volatile scene.

Influenced by the intersection of 80’s arena rock bands like AC/DC and Judas Priest, glam rock / dance bands like Rockets and Supermax, and especially the underground Italian producer Piero Umiliani – Solipsism (Collected Works 2006 – 2013) is full of atmospheric rock-inspired arpeggiated riffs. The mixture of metal and chugging dance music highlights just how unique Simonetti‘s imprint on the musical landscape was at the time, and continues to be.

Solipsism is available September 28th via his label, 2MR. Pre-order it here.
