Fast-rising Cornish psych rockers Hanterhir have unveiled a video for their new single, along with a series of UK dates, including their first London show in more than two years.
‘Hello Sunshine’ is an abridged version of the 10-minute opening track on their acclaimed new album The Saving Of Cadan. The video is by renowned Cornish filmmaker Mawgan Lewis.
Available on limited edition triple-vinyl or double-CD, the band spent four years working on the album, which was recorded in a cricket pavilion, a Methodist chapel a llama farm and, finally, a conventional studio.
The conceptual work relates the story of a boy, Cadan, who tries to drown himself in a pool on Carn Marth, the mysterious hill south of the band’s hometown of Redruth, but is rescued by the witch Morwenna, and evil spirit that lives is the lake.
Hanterhir have a series of dates lined up for the autumn, including a rare London show where in a special Cornish psych double-bill, they’ll be joined by rejuvenated 70s free-festival veterans The Brainiac 5.
