Brighton based singer-songwriter Bess Atwell has just released a lyric video for her new single. Listen here
‘Swimming Pool’, recorded at Soup Studio in East London with producer Giles Barrett (John Grant, Johnny Flynn, Deep Throat Choir, Marika Hackman, Goat Girl), will be available digitally and is the first taste of what to expect from her eagerly awaited new EP – which is expected later this year.
With the first new material since the acclaimed ‘Hold Your Mind’ debut album from 2016, the singer has returned with a bigger sound that’s soakedin fourpart vocal harmony and delivered her strongest and most accomplished song to date.
The aforementioned debut album included the single ‘Cobbled Streets’ and saw Bess Atwell attract the attention of critics and public alike while picking up radio plays on BBC Radio One, Two and Six Music together with live sessions for Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley’s shows.
Taking inspiration from the likes of The National, Fleet Foxes and Sharon Van Etten, the multi – talented Atwell has spent the last two years refining her sound and playing sold out headline shows and festivals such as The Great Escape and Green Man.
To coincide with the release of the new single, Bess will announce new UK live dates in the very near future.
