Running around promoting this new single, meeting new people, learning new things everyday – enjoying the summer – fun times.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Take Me Away”?
It’s got just under a quarter million plays on soundcloud and growing,
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
Not in particularly.
The hook was in the making before I arrived at the studio so I initially drew energy from there, I would say I used this song to draw influence from some random events in relation to the hook.
From the top of the year myself and the producer of this song stamped the year by saying we weren’t going to waste any time around inhospitable environments or scenarios no matter the situation, no time to cringe or force being around unbearable crowds or events just because.. we wish to keep our aura clean and healthy – a breath of fresh air – more of a spiritual awakening we’ve been undergoing.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Its shot, and is beginning to pop up a few Sky TV channels, it will premiered online very soon.
How was the recording and writing process?
Very enjoyable, great energy in the studio with great likeminded people, we knew we had a hit on our hands 5 minutes into the jam session.
How has your upbringing influence your music?
Greatly.. Edge from the streets, uptempo vibes from paying attention to what’s going on in the events I may find myself in, hip hop from coming up off U.S hip hop in the UK.
That love you feel radiating from my music comes from being around cool, great friends and family as well as humble experiences and reality I have lived in and endured.
What role does London play in your writing?
A huge amount being I’ve been born & bred here most my life, it’s the foundation of my character and influence – from the cool urban life style, and eclectic genres/ trends, the diverse walks of life, to growing up in a council estate which came a great deal of influence where the urban street and raw element comes from.
Known for playing with different genres – how do you get to balance them together?
It can be tricky at times so I would typically reach out for featured acts to collaborate some way shape or form, but I do find myself digging deeper into myself and applying intelligence. It’s an exciting thing to challenge myself in such a unique and artistic way.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes indeed, I have many fruitful follow ups in the making which I know the public will love!
