Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Siamese Flame”? Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
We wrote Siamese Flame in the studio. I had been writing a lot about this dream I had a long time ago. My boyfriend and I were sleeping with our foreheads touching, and we both dreamt that we were children playing in wide open fields and forests. As we returned home, we saw smoke rising, and as we neared the village, we saw that it was burning. At that point we both woke up. It was a very specific dream, and it felt more like a memory that we both shared. So Siamese Flame is about that- about finding the same souls in every life, and reconnecting in different ways.
I love that it has acoustic guitar over a very 80s goth-dance beat.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
We hope to! We’re lucky to work with Joey Halter of the Railroad Bill show on visuals. He made our “Loveless” video.
How was the recording and writing process?
Easy and inspiring- Thorson, Chris and I jam and write together very easily. Thorson has a studio in his apartment, so it’s very easy for us to just go in and write and record a song the same day.
What role does LA play in your writing?
Well, I definitely write a lot about wherever I’m at. Currently I’m writing about how I think the world is burning, because with the weather we’ve been having, it certainly feels that way.
How’s your new EP coming along?
Slowly but surely- we’re releasing a ton of singles into the next year, but then hope to release two EP’s or an album next year. TBD!
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, we’ll be doing some short West Coast runs this fall, and more intense touring next year.
What else is happening next in DREAMINGS’ world?
Lots and lots of writing and recording and making magic happen!
