Brooklyn’s rising star BAYLi announces her debut ‘SUMMER’ mixtape set for release on August 31st. Including previously released tracks “MYOB: Or Whatever,” “Right Now,” and “Underneath,” the mixtape also highlights new music where you learn about BAYLi’s sentiments on break-ups, love, struggles of being an upcoming artist, parties, and facing deep-rooted insecurities.
To celebrate the announcement, BAYLi shares another new track “Out For Love.” Co-written and produced by Justin Tranter(Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez), Sasha Sloan (Charli XCX, John Legend), and Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Tove Lo), the song features beautifully psychedelic vocals and a message championing love. “They’re out for blood, but we’re out for love,” BAYLi sings in her catchiest chorus to date.
With visuals that evoke an early-2000’s rom-com, the “Out For Love” video shows BAYLi fighting for attention, to no avail. “It seems like no one wants to give me any love,” BAYLi says. “Everyone is too distracted by what’s on their phones or their work, and everyone else is taken. I want viewers to just know that even though the world feels like it’s falling apart, love yourself and give love!”
The blend of genres BAYLi perfects on ‘SUMMER’ places her at the forefront of the “new Brooklyn,” with tracks like “Problem” and “Kid” occupying their own unique sound and attitude while “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and “U&I” showcase both BAYLi’s vocal range, songwriting prowess, and her knack for R&B song structures. BAYLi takes the audience with her on a search for self-love, where each song has its own shift in mood, in a seemingly complex way, much like we are as humans.
In support of the ‘SUMMER’ Mixtape, BAYLi will open for Ravyn Lenae at Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY on August 25th.
