ash.ØK Releases New Music Video For “Holding Sand”

There is a certain point in a musician’s career where they feel established in their craft: their style, workflow, and approach are solidified through years and years of observation and application. This is especially true for producer and songwriter Ashok Kailath – better known as ash.ØK. ash.ØK spent many years behind the board, perfecting his skills as a producer, spending countless hours in the studio bettering his craft. It clearly shows in his work, but now he is trying the “other side” and releasing his own work, letting listeners get a look on what goes on inside his head. His 13-track record entitled The Unraveled is a representation of Ash and the music that he consumes. Many songs on the record stand out, but his latest single “Holding Sand” will take you for an epic ride.

There are numerous elements of this track that make it unique and special. “Holding Sand” showcases a very talented session player by the name of Tina Guo who is an expert at the Cello, Erhu, and Native American Bass Flute. She is one of the many talented artists that Ash is able to collaborate with on this record. The composition and production fits the video seamlessly. “Holding Sand” takes place in the Medieval period, a cinematic love story that portrays our protagonists in their journey throughout this era. As circumstances take a turn for the worst, our male lead is forced to do whatever it takes to get his lover back. Intense strings and keys, mixed with many modern elements of producing dramatize our plot and drop you in the middle of the Medieval Eea.
