Valley Maker announces new album “Rhododendron,” out October 12 on Frenchkiss Records

Valley Maker, the folk project of South Carolina-bred, Seattle-based songwriter Austin Crane, announced his new album Rhododendron today. Set for release on October 12, the album is Valley Maker’s debut with new label home Frenchkiss Records. The ten songs of Rhododendron reflect Crane’s headspace as a PhD student in Human Geography, roaming through places in time and meditating on the spaces and connections we share with others. The record features production by Crane’s longtime friend Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi and Trevor Spencer (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes). Valley Maker released the new album’s rambling first single “Light On The Ground” today along with a video directed by Joseph Kolean:
