Comprised of Nathan Horst and Jesse Proctor, The Light The Heat started off by writing music purely for commercials and films and once the pair found their stride working together, the music prospered and garnered its own unique sound. It outgrew its application thanks to the creativity and dedication applied, and people wanted to hear more. 2017 saw the release of Silhouettes, an EP that changed the band’s overall direction from strictly music for film to music for the general market.
Now taking strides into the spotlight, The Light The Heat share It’s Our Time, ahead of their full length album later this year. The track executes the modern love song aesthetic with an inimitable panache, and the mood set by the song is so palpable you instantly get swept away into the positive summery vibes set by both the vocals and Indie Pop instrumental. There’s anthemic, almost wall of sound vocals that match the earworm melodies, and the sound they achieve is as big as the passion that fuels it. With nods to Paul Simon’s “Graceland” and Bleachers – it has a comforting familiar feeling, yet at the same time sounds so freshly engaging. Listen here
