Leisure Club have released their latest single Hollow Heartbeat, available now on all streaming services. The single is the first release for the band since their debut self titled album came out last year. Accompanying the audio for the song is a new video from video production companies Papaya Naranja and Talentosa Productions. The video for Hollow Heartbeat is a stylistic portrayal of the main themes of the song.

At its core Hollow Heartbeat can be interpreted in any number of ways. The band like to think of it as a song that celebrates being comfortable with living a life that isn’t dependant on others, while at the same time being able to love and form those meaningful connections that make life worth living. We can’t force others to love us the same way we love them, and time won’t wait for someone to change how they feel, but we can live our lives as best we can and be there for the people we care about as best we can. Maybe not in the way we originally intended, but be there nonetheless.

“All I bet was a little bit of hope

Time won’t stand, but I’ll wait here for you”

The music video depicts a woman exploring Vancouver  in the summertime. As she dances and skips her way from scene to scene, she shows her independence and strong sense of self – on her own, without dire need for companionship or a male counterpart. She’s empowered and joyful as she navigates through the mid-summer heat.
