Today, POND share a new track, “Burnt Out Star,” out now via Interscope Records. The track is an eight minute long spatial adventure, and marks the first new music from POND since their acclaimed album The Weather, out last year.
The new track comes with the announcement of a full North American headlining tour throughout October and November. The dates kick off with an appearance at Desert Daze Festival, alongside Tame Impala, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Death Grips and many more, followed by a slot at San Francisco’s Treasure Island Festival. Other highlights include Thalia Hall in Chicago on October 25th, Black Cat in Washington DC on November 7th and Elsewhere in Brooklyn on November 8th. More dates to be announced soon.
In 2017, The Weather became the bands most rapturously received album to date, with unanimous critical praise. “The album never wanders more than a few inches away from the sublime,” said Pitchfork. “It’s a document of a band knocking loudly on the door of greatness.” POND has become a festival mainstay having appeared this summer at Bonnaroo and Shaky Knees in the US but have also made appearances at Coachella, Primavera, End of The Road and many many more.
