Helenor has return with the release of his new single “Ocean State.” Listen here

Helenor is the musical moniker for Boston based visual artist David DiAngelis. The premiere LP “something twice” was produced and recorded at home over the greater part of 2017. Drums were provided by Seth Kasper (Mass GothicChristopher OwensHooray for EarthWild LightAir Traffic Controller) who also co-produced the album.

David studied at Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a concentration in Illustration. He is a working visual artist/designer who’s approach to music is heavily influenced by visual narrative. David has played in several acts, including Philosophical Zombie – where he and Seth Kasper began to first collaborate.

The LP “something twice” was predominantly written, recorded and engineered at Helenor’s home studio in Brighton, MA. It is the product of a patient process, influenced by the various details that home recording reveals.

Inspiration for the record came from discographies across multiple genres. From the early days of Beck to Fleetwood Mac, Frank Ocean, Deerhunter, Ricky Nelson, Elliot Smith and more – each musician casting its own indelible mark. The final result is a lovingly crafted collection.
