Magic Bronson Releases New Single “Knock it Off”

Magic Bronson is the LA based duo consisting of Michael Nicastro and Matthew Lieberman. Their sound can only be described as a vibe that is truly Magic Bronson, as they will never write the same song twice. Drawing from a large well of influences but never latching onto one sound or style, they are constantly evolving. The two tend to spend a large majority of their time locked away in their studio, and are set to release a new EP this Fall on Handwritten Records. Today they released a new single, perfect for any soundtrack this summer, “Knock it Off”. The new track had its first play with Atwood Magazine, who said, “Clean, clever, and fantastically hypnotizing, “Knock It Off” is a fun song that heralds a new era for Magic Bronson.” The song is now available everywhere, stream here.

For Magic Bronson, “The lyrics to “Knock It Off” are about a wild psychedelic trip that’s taking place at a bar in the East Side of Los Angeles. The lyrics were originally inspired by the cover art of Father John Misty’s debut album “Fear Fun” we tried to paint a picture of being under the influence at a bar or club and having all these strange characters coming up to you and trying to either be your best friend or hitting on your girlfriend and feeling a bit tripped out about the whole situation. You keep telling yourself none of it is real so you might as well just let go and have fun with the situation.”

Coming off the month long tour with Transviolet, Magic Bronson is true to their ethos of constantly evolving. Having regularly released new material since their debut in 2014, Magic Bronson has grown a cult following and have been received with critical acclaim. In 2016, KCRW named “Hell With A Water Pistol” their track of the day and Kevin Bronson of BuzzbandsLA gave high praise calling the Magic Bronson EP “five bass-propelled songs with rave-ready production, surprising twists and clever lyricism.” The 2016 single “What a Week” was featured in the Kendall & Kylie Jenner Holiday Ad for PacSun and the song “Rider Rider” was featured in the Spotify 2016 Holiday Ad campaign ran in 24 different languages worldwide. In 2017, Billboard Dance called “Nervous” an “electronic head-bopper is a track fit for a dance party.” Now in 2018, they are set to tour this Fall in support of the upcoming EP.
