Hi J, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hi thanks for having me, I’ve been very busy but got lots of energy so you always see me bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Pay Attention”?

Pay attention is a bedroom anthem I took great pleasure in writing this track as I’m a highly sexual person, I see sex as an art and it should be fully enjoyed by two consenting adults or three lol.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

I have a lot of confidence, fully enjoying the company of my partner over the years deserves a song so it made sense to write one to honour this union, these days Women are comfortable – confident able to discuss all topics without feeling embarrassed. I fit into that new mindset A lot of my songs represent strong confident beautiful women, yes we have moments of being sad weak but overall it’s uplifting strong and sexy concepts.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Now that I have started on this musical journey I will not be giving up any time soon, singles remix collaborations going on the road touring performing it’s all in the pipeline, I see the musical journey as a marathon not a race so everything will take time but it will take place.

How was the recording and writing process?

I’ve been writing since I was 16 so I find it to be second nature, I enjoy writing it allows me to lock the world off fully engage in the music Express myself. I’ve been recording with my producer For over 15 years so our vibe in the studio is that of brother and sister really comfortable really open and a pleasure.

What role does London play in your writing?

I’ve lived many places in the past Eastern Europe – America – Spain but London is home, every part of the word home, soon as I step off the plane or I get back into my area Feels like I’ve slipped on a comfortable pair of slippers. A lot of my experiences have come from London, so I guess we could say London plays a big role in my songwriting.

How Rihanna and has influence your music?

We have all seen Rhianna grow from simple beginnings to mega superstar so it’s a beautiful progression to see, she is Caribbean my background is Jamaican so I can relate to her voice our words which are meaningful and they touch my soul. Artist must have the power to touch you from a distance and she most definitely touches me.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I’m in the studio working on new material so they will be a new single on the way, your gonna love it.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

As an independent artist things change all the time so I’m holding the dates close to my chest at the moment but once things drop your be 1st to know.

Any plans to hit the road?

It’s my second month out as an independent artist so I’m finding my feet finding my audience, once I’ve built up a good fan base and I’m in demand I will hit the road.

What else is happening next in J Webb’s world?

Working hard in the studio creating more fantastic content building up my fan base and learning every day how to improve myself as an artist as there is always room for improvement, The intention is to stay consistent so people can rely on me to produce good material.
