UTKARSH AMBUDKAR Releases “Vanity”

Utkarsh Ambudkar releases his new single “Vanity,” featuring Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, clipping) Rafael Casal, and The Olympicks.

Best known for his roles in TV shows like The Mindy Project, Brockmire and movies like Pitch Perfect, The Problem With Apu, The Barbershop 3, Utkarsh’s career of multitudes sees no stopping. With upcoming roles in Disney’s Live Action Mulan, and indie Blindspotting with “Vanity” collaborators Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Rafael Casal, Utkarsh is ready to share his brand of raw and melodic hip-hop that addresses race, the first generation immigrant experience, politics, Hollywood and more from a fresh and infectious perspective.

A rapper and creative from an early age, Utkarsh was an original member of The Beatards, an NYC-based underground hip-hop group in the early 2000s, the group performed alongside acts like Santigold, Azealia Banks, G-Easy, Public Enemy, Questlove and more. His work with the Beatards eventually helped land him his role in Pitch Perfect.

During the same time, Utkarsh helped originate the role of Aaron Burr in the developmental readings of Hamilton. He later reunited with Lin-Manuel Miranda as part of the improvisational New-York based hip-hop group Freestyle Love Supreme, which won critic support and traveled to international comedy festivals.

With an upcoming musical project in the works, Utkarsh’s year promises no brakes in sight.
