Kinder Release “What You’re Like”

Sisters Briony and Savannah join forces to make the refreshing, and soon-to-be iconic electronic music duo Kinder. Starting their journey as bedroom producers out of their regional town of Maitland, Australia, they soon started making trips to Sydney to get involved with the progressive electronic music scene as DJs. They’ve kept their production skills close to their chest and have since worked in their own vocals, which was the final touch to the sound they’ve crafted and are ready to share it with the world.

Despite this being their debut, they’ve already seen a myriad of success, opening for the likes of bass music heavyweights NGHTMRE and RL Grime, playing a string of Australian festival dates including Splendour in the Grass, Mountain Sounds, ThisThat, and touring as part of Groovin’ The Moo and Alison Wonderland’s Scarehouse Project. Radio figurehead of the Australian music scene, triple j, have also given the pair nothing but support, announcing their Friday Mix as “2017’s mix of the year”.

Building on their well received introduction to the scene, the pair start strong with What You’re Like, that releases July 13th. With no shortage of memorable melodies and head nodding rhythms, the track takes influence from Afrobeat alongside flavours of Latin dance music, a genre that they’ve championed in their DJ sets. As the track unfolds you get more dimensions of their talent and influences, unfolding into elements of electro pop and all forms of their voice with an emotive performance. Known predominantly as DJs, the pair’s vocals and production show their true colours as wildly creative multifaceted artists that are only just getting started. Listen here

On the motivation behind What You’re Like, Kinder state that “Putting out this song is like a weight off my shoulders, letting my emotions all out. It’s about bottling up how upset I was with a person, someone who became so significant for the wrong reasons.”
