Lily Moore has released her brand new single, ‘I Will Never Be’. The track, with its classic soul/gospel inspired sound, finds the nineteen-year-old songwriter in her element. Starting off slow, the track builds into a huge crescendo, with Lily’s powerhouse voice dominating throughout. The track is the first single from her forthcoming 2nd EP which will be out later this year. Listen to the trackHERE.
“I wrote I Will Never Be about knowing you will never be good enough for someone no matter how hard you try. It was one of those songs that kind of wrote itself as I knew exactly what I wanted to say and what the emotion behind the song was. I think it’s probably my favourite song to sing live now that I have a full band, it’s a proper diva moment when I’m on stage!”Lily says.
Aftersharing the bill with the likes of George Ezra, Tom Grennan and James Bay, playing Barn on the Farm, The Great Escape, 110 Above and smashing two sold out shows of her own this year alone, Lily recently announced her first ever UK headline tour, kicking off in October. This will include her biggest show to date at London’s Omeara on Tuesday 2ndOctober.
The brand new single and tour follow the release of her critically acclaimed debut EP,‘Not that Special’, which was released on Virgin EMI/ Closer Recordings earlier this year.
She’s already won fans at radio with support from Annie Mac, Phil Taggart, Scott Mills, Clara Amfo and Greg James on Radio 1, and both Zane Lowe and Elton John have been supporting her at Beats 1!
Born in London but raised in Brighton, Lily developed an early appreciation for the soul masters like Etta James, Lauryn Hill and Sam Cooke. Meanwhile Lily’s own song writing has developed into a disarmingly stripped-back style that recalls the youthfulwryness and thick-skinned power of a young Amy Winehouse or Lianne La Havas.
