Chastity Shares “Heaven Hell Anywhere Else” Video; Debut Album ‘Death Lust’ to be released this Friday

Today, Chastity (aka Brandon Williams) shared the video for ferocious new track, “Heaven Hell Anywhere Else,” via AdHoc. The track is taken from his forthcoming album, Death Lust, out this Friday, July 13 via Captured Tracks.

Williams says of the track and video, “‘Heaven Hell Anywere Else’ is the most death-dreaming song on the record. I’ve been reading about how chemical our pleasure and happiness is. The feeling of pleasure just being dopamine, happiness serotonin. ‘Who laced my days with pain?’ I’m talking about imbalance of these things and feeling caught on the other side as though a God, someone or something, may be culpable. But, maybe it’s just these chemicals that hold that massive power over us, ‘serotonin don’t let me go’. The video is just about dead cops, burning their bodies in a church and going to the town fair with some friends.

Chastity is a world of its own from the mind of Brandon Williams. Reflecting the working class background of Whitby, Ontario, Chastity’s songs are charged with the ethos of archetypal youth on the fringe. A project more aptly characterized by its intentions than specific sound or medium, Chastity stands to confront the struggles of those existing in the unseen, often silenced periphery. It is an artifact of youth culture constantly working to form community, bridging isolation with collectivity.

Chastity also recently announced North American tour dates supporting Barcelona’s post-punk darlings, MOURN.
