‘Please Don’t Cry’, Only smiles as Michael Burrows releases debut single

It’s not often you get to meet your idol’s, let alone be somewhat mentored by one of the greatest musicians Australia has to offer. In Michael Burrows case it was just that.

This Aussie Folk/Rock artist has delivered an enigmatic yet humbling debut single reminiscent of classic roots topped off with an 80’s folk flare.

In order to achieve that stand out track it’s important to know that regardless of style or taste, an artist needs to be able to ween their way into your subconscious. ‘Please Don’t Cry’ is a classic example of a piece of music that you swear you’ve heard before but actually haven’t. Possibly having similarities with some nostalgic bearing on your life, consequently resulting in the desire to hear more.

The song itself, taken from his debut E.P ‘Turn This Love Around’ has gone through a spate of incarnations including a yet to be released version featuring Crowded House’s frontman Neil Finn on vocals. Already making it’s way to commercial, alternative and community radio in Australia through syndications and publications alike this Melbourne based muso has definitely hit the brief.

Burrows worked on this EP with GRAMMY-award winning, Hall of Famer Frank Myers (I Swear), producer Jimmy Nichols, and audio engineer, and also GRAMMY-award winner, Steve Marcantonio in the royal birthplace of music Nashville, Tennessee.

Also taking part in a cruisey side project with music phenomena ‘Lior’, Burrows heart lies in creating art that stands the test of time while enjoying the company along the way.

Aptly named “A paragon of progressive artistry emulsi fied in a classic Pop/Folk culture” this track is one first step towards an absolutely cracking E.P and I for one cannot wait to hear more.
