HDNET MOVIES Presents ‘Summer Action Stars’ in July with Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme & More

HDNET MOVIES jumps into high gear this July, celebrating the best big screen heroes with an explosive “Summer Action Stars” block—airing in primetime from Friday, July 6 through Tuesday, July 31.

The fireworks begin with action icon Sylvester Stallone in four of his finest films on July 6, starring as a gritty cop charged with protecting a model from a murderous cult in COBRA at 7:30pE. Next, at 9pE, Stallone is awakened from cryogenic slumber to protect a peaceful society from a murderous psychopath (Wesley Snipes) in DEMOLITION MAN with Sandra Bullock; and races to save survivors trapped in a crumbling tunnel inDAYLIGHT, with Viggo Mortensen, at 11pE. Then, Stallone teams up with Arnold Schwarzenegger to find a way out of a state-of-the-art maximum security prison in ESCAPE PLAN at 1aE.

Martial Arts superstar Jackie Chan takes over on July 13, leading a teen on a journey to rescue the mythic Monkey King (Jet Li) in THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, at 7:10pE; followed by Chan as a skillful fighter battling the mob in RUMBLE IN THE BRONX at 9pE. And Chan shines as a daring adventurer, embarking on a quest for a mysterious treasure in ARMOUR OF GOD at 10:30pE; and searching for Nazi gold in the Sahara desert in ARMOUR OF GOD 2: OPERATION CONDOR at 12aE.

The month continues with fan-favorite Jean-Claude Van Damme in a hard-hitting triple feature on July 27, going toe-to-toe with terrorists at the Stanley Cup Finals in SUDDEN DEATH at 9pE. Then, Van Damme enters a deadly fighting tournament in BLOODSPORT at 10:55pE; and battles a brutal street gang in a plague-infected apocalyptic wasteland in CYBORG at 12:40aE.

The block closes on Tuesday, July 31, with the legendary Wesley Snipes in a trio of epics, starring as a cop caught up in his brother’s (Woody Harrelson) plot to hijack the New York City subway’s MONEY TRAIN, with Jennifer Lopez, at 7pE. Next, Snipes goes on the lam as Neil Shaw, a covert operative framed for murder in THE ART OF WAR, with Donald Sutherland, at 9pE. And Agent Shaw is back in action at 11pE, embroiled in a sinister assassination plot in THE ART OF WAR II: BETRAYAL.
