Zulu Records are going in hard for their first release of July, a two-track package of bass, tech-house and everything in between. The provider of this one is No Hopes, a Russian DJ and producer who has previously released on Let There Be House, Milk & Sugar, RH2 and many more. Taking up the remixing responsibility is Nopopstar, who has had his tracks hosted on Black Hole, Funktion, Housesession and of course Zulu Records. The Brighton imprint have been hammering out releases as of late, and as you can hear by the sound of this one, they aren’t holding back.
It’s easy to hear why ‘I Don’t Trust’ has already mounted up some serious radio plays and support from Fedde Le Grand, Tough Love, Kid Massive, Sam Divine, Thomas Gold and many more.
There’s no doubt that ‘I Don’t Trust’ will fill a dancefloor within seconds. An incredible fusion of bass and house, this one pumps out a floor-shaking bass drop that overflows with funk. Synth stabs and a chunky backbeat drives everything forward, and the vocal hook makes for the perfect break that leads up to a mammoth drop.
Nopopstar’s remix takes things into tech-house territory. Full of cowbell, a deep, gruelling bassline and an extra burst of energy that takes the track into darker dimensions.
Packing some serious heat, this is a must-have to get any room shaking – a big find from Zulu Records.
