‘Rise’ is the latest single from London soul-pop trio Lunafruit, to be released on 29th June 2018. The brainchild of multi-instrumentalists Elliot Wenman, Sophie Grant and Archie Henderson, this anticipated release is a thoughtful slow groove that features jazz-inflected vocals, warm guitars and smooth sax sounds.
‘Rise’ is about the hazy morning minutes before waking up, and the subtleties of 21st century relationships. It takes audiences on a journey from stripped-back vocals and guitar, through rhythmic slow jams to a colourful middle section that takes listeners by surprise. Inspired by the likes of Lianne La Havas, Snarky Puppy and Jordan Rakei, this dynamic trio’s latest single is a tender and soulful summer track.
The three 24-year-olds met in 2015 whilst working as session musicians at a studio in south London, founded the project and have been writing together ever since. This latest release follows the success of their debut single, the playful ‘Superhero’, and will be followed by an EP in July. The trio are also due to announce a host of summer tour dates as they bring a visual live show to audiences around the UK in July and August.
