Since the release last Friday, ‘How I Feel’ has picked up support from no less than 11 New Music Friday playlists on Spotify around the world – an incredible achievement for brand new, independent British artist. In addition, BBC Introducing have played the song in two regions, hailing the song as “so accomplished, so well done”.

Co-written in Copenhagen with Olle Markensten and Daniel Bech. ‘How I Feel’ is a classic break-up song with honest, conversational lyrics, combined with stylish, original production. Taken from Cara’s recent experiences, both personally and professionally, anyone who has has their heart broken will relate to this track.

“How I Feel is a very relatable song about love, loss and nostalgia,” explains Cara “I think the track picks up on those little details and memories which are present in all types of relationships, making it a very powerful song”

“I was so lucky to write this song with some amazing songwriters and producers at GL Music in Copenhagen, Denmark; a city that helped inspire the song. What I love about ‘How I Feel’ is its honest, conversational and heart felt lyrics, combined with modern production. I think it’s revitalised the classic break up song”

Cara Hammond is a 21-year-old artist from North Wales. She has self-released several EPs since 2013, while studying, and in June 2017, she released the track ‘No’ which was accompanied by a beautiful video shot in Paris. ‘No’ received strong support from all streaming services, and has been streamed more than 100,000 times on Spotify.

As well as being an accomplished songwriter, Cara has played over 100 gigs since the age of 14. Highlights of her live career so far include playing the Arena Stage at Love Supreme in 2017, opening twice for Charlotte Church, and performing at a BBC Introducing showcase in January 2017. Other highlights include graduating from the Leeds College of Music with a first, being named as BBC Introducing Artist of the Week on the national ‘BBC Georgey Tonight’ show, travelling and performing around South East Asia where she played her new music to Spotify Asia in Singapore.
