INTERVIEW: Futuristic Polar Bears

Hi guys, welcome back to VENTS! How have you been?

Hi Vents, we’re doing great thanks and preparing for another busy summer with loads of exciting releases, shows, collabs, new label and a new radio show!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Running Wild”?

It was amazing to work With Yves and PollyAnna on this track. Originally, we started getting ideas together with Yves back in 2016 and had a lot of fun road testing some of the earlier ideas out around the world before setting on this one. The track really came to life when Yves presented us with this vocal we were all like ”WOW” this is incredible and really turned it into a summer hit.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

We don’t know what inspired PollyAnna to write the lyrics the track came from road testing so many ideas, we really wanted to nail a feel-good song that made people smile and we got that with this idea! We 1st played this idea in LA back in January and the club went crazy so we knew we were onto a winner!

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, funnily enough as we type this interview they are putting the finishing touches to the video now, we’ve only seen snippets, but it looks really cool and will inspire everybody to sing along! It will be available soon through the Spinnin TV channel on Youtube.

What was it like to work with Yves V and what did he brought up to the table?

Yves is such an amazing producer to work with, he’s full of really good ideas and has a real ear for details and getting the sound right. He’s also a great guy to hang out with and we’ve shared a few beers at Tomorrowland the past couple of years. Yves also got PollyAnna to deliver the vocal and that was the key to the track, finding the perfect vocal which we managed to do!

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than in your own?

Every collaboration is different to be honest. It’s always great to work with different producers and artists as you always learn something new and for us that’s the beauty of the music industry meeting and learning from new people. We’re really enjoying at the minute working with vocalists and developing their ideas from a topline and simple chord progression into a fully-fledged song. We have so many exciting collabs coming up including a new one with Mattn on Smash The House & Wolfpack on our new label that we are very excited about.

With the new imprint – what can new and old fans expect?

We are so excited about finally launching our new label called CMMD records. We teased it out last month on our socials to a great response and we have an amazing collaboration with one of our “Smash The House” friends to kick things off! The label is all about releasing music we love to play out alongside some collabs with producers we love and are big fans of.

Will you be seeking for new sonic direction?

The label is all about the main room and festival stages so we’re not going to changing the sound too much but definitely we’ll be looking to push boundaries and try some new things. The thing we are exciting about the most is releasing music we want to release with no guidelines or limits.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

We have lots of new material coming over the summer and are really excited about our summer release schedule. We have a new collab with Mattn on Smash The House that Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been hammering, a new solo on Maxximize in July that we are really excited about and it’s been great to finally sign something with the Blasterjaxx guys & some exciting releases on CMMD including the launch track coming on 27th July alongside one of our friends that’s going to be HUGE!!

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes, we’re excited to be back on the road starting next week in India taking in Mumbai, Indore and Bangalore. We love India so much its an amazing place to experience and the crowds are mental. We also really looking forward to getting back to China, Taiwan and Ibiza over the coming months.

What else is happening next in Futuristic Polar Bears’ world?

On top of touring, new releases and launching the new label we’re looking at rebranding and launching our new radio show called and working on some really exciting collab projects over the next few months that we can’t wait to show everybody!
