About the song, Turner comments:
‘Calm Down’ is about going insane inside your own head and feeling you’ve been misunderstood as people’s advice is to simply chill out as if it’s all that easy. The video was made (in my kitchen!) to show exactly what that grit your teeth feeling is like. Starting bubbly and fake the video starts to take a very odd and fittingly neurotic turn.
Having spent the last several months working on every visual and sound for ‘Contrast’ from home it’s a bittersweet and exciting feeling to end it here! I’m 100% ready to start sharing more soon though.
