Pop-punk trio Victory Kid is teaming up with New Noise Magazine today to premiere the music video for “Clownin”. Watch the fun video exclusively on New Noise here. The track is the band’s first single off of the forthcoming EP Thrillenials out on July 27th.
“Clownin is a real life thriller movie that flows between ska, reggae and punk so quick it makes your head spin,” states singer Harrison Nida about the music video. “The inspiration is drawn from the weird clowns that were appearing in 2016-2017. This song is meant to be a depiction of a nightmarish dream.”
The Los Angeles natives forthcoming EP Thrillenials was co-produced by frontman Harrison Nida and Allan Hessler (Avenged Sevenfold, The Used). Additionally, all the horns on the EP were tracked by Matt Appleton of the popular ska-punk band, Reel Big Fish. Thrillenials is the follow up to the band’s previous EP Illenials, which was released this past May to rave reviews.
Victory Kid is Southern California’s answer to a question that has yet to be asked. With their high-energy blend of pop-punk, ska and rock music, they allude to a time when everything was possible and nothing was off the table. Thrillenials and the band’s previous EP, Illenials, draw inspiration from the band’s love of real, heartfelt music and political activism, creating a unique mix that’s unlike any other band in their genre.
The trio is set to perform at Esports Arena in Santa Ana on June 16th for the final round of the Battle for Vans Warped Tour. The winner earns a slot on the final full cross-country tour of Vans Warped Tour. Follow Victory Kid on socials for more information on upcoming tour dates.
