Introducing you to Manchester-based three-piece DR!FTWOOD aiming to put their own flare on Indie Pop with the release of styled black & white.
Having released a number of singles over the last couple of years including the much loved ‘Last Night’ and ‘This City’ which has gained over 21,300 streams, the trio finally release their debut video to their latest single ‘36 Ghost’ (released last year). Watch here
The band consisting of Marcus Maddock (guitarist), Hugh Aitchison (vocalist) and Nathan Walker (percussionist) have been in the studio working on new music with a number of releases lined over the next few months. Influenced by 1975 and The Smiths the boys write indie guitar pop with big hooks, telling stories about love and life.
The single which was recorded in Salford by Calvin Lanz is about a toxic relationship that is causing pain, ‘things started so well and went down hill fast’. The hook “Maybe she’ll leave me alone if I’m just a Ghost” refers to the feeling of wanting to be invisible and hoping things just sort themselves out. We added the #36 as it took 36 mixes to get right.
The boys have played shows across the UK, Europe and after touring Amsterdam now have the taste for more. Currently playing shows up and down the country the boys feel it’s now the right time to push their music harder than ever.
You can catch them around the UK from 28th July playing Preston to September 8th in London.
