For the past year, Vents has been following pop-rock singer-songwriter John Hickman’s great single and video releases off his debut album Remnants, including “Cascade” and “Hello Hello”.

His new single “That’s Life” upholds his flair for story-telling through music and visuals; the catchy chorus ‘looking for the day that I can find my way back home’ alludes to his love of sci-fi and life beyond, likely influenced by his first career as an aerospace engineer. “That’s Life” has an infectious guitar riff to drive us through the realities of dealing with earthly existence. The song showcases John’s outstanding vocals, surprising us with even higher highs than we’ve heard from him before. Working with Bay area producer Joel Jaffe, the single hints at John’s classic rock influences, but ultimately delivers a timeless rock track with the perfect amount of existential angst.

“That’s Life” will be available digitally everywhere today!
