Today, First Aid Kit has released ‘Live from the Rebel Hearts Club’ via Columbia Records. The offering is a 6 track EP featuring live recordings from the duo’s latest album Ruins as well as their anthemic song “You are the Problem Here.” Each track also has an accompanying visual – watch HERE.
First Aid Kit says: “We made these recordings with our band back in December. The live aspect of our music has always been really important to us. We had a great time both recording and shooting the videos for these songs. The song ‘You are the Problem Here’ felt especially relevant to record, it had gained momentum due to the #MeToo movement. We made a version of the song that’s a little faster and perhaps a little rawer.”
The Söderberg sisters will embark on The Rebel Heart Tour this September in support of their critically acclaimed album Ruins. The 18 city trek will bring First Aid Kit to Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and more, including a prominent set at Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas. Julia Jacklin, JS Ondara, and M. Ward will support First Aid Kit on select dates throughout the tour. Tickets are on sale now, visit www.firstaidkitband.com for more information.
First Aid Kit is currently back in the US for select shows around their appearance at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The brief run kicks off tonight in Raleigh, NC and concludes at Red Rocks with Ryan Adams on June 14. See full tour routing below.
Ruins was named one of the most anticipated albums of 2018 by The Wall Street Journal,Consequence of Sound, Cosmopolitan, and more with Pitchfork declaring it “a showcase for [First Aid Kit’s] sweet harmonies, with some bold stylistic departures.” The band’s recent performance of “Fireworks” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! received praise from Rolling Stone for its “angelic harmonies,” while Jezebel reflected “oh my Lorde—can these two play a beautiful tune.”
