UK singer/songwriter, Tom Grennan has shared the official video for uplifting single, “Barbed Wire.” The visual was directed by Tim Mattia (The 1975, George Ezra) and shot in The Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.
Grennan’s powerful performance drives this uplifting anthem about not letting anything hold you back, ensuring you bring people up with you and kicking back at others who say you can’t “Gotta Stand Tall and Aim Higher, don’t touch the barbed wire”.
“Barbed Wire” is taken from Grennan’s debut album Lighting Matches which will be released globally on July 6 via Insanity Records/Columbia Records. The album explores sobriety, love, depression, loneliness and reveals an openness and vulnerability ahead of his years, servicing as his personal journey. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer, Fraser T Smith (Adele, Stormzy) and Dan Grech (Liam Gallagher, The Killers, Radiohead), the album also features hit single “Found What I’ve Been Looking For” which has racked up over 27 million streams to date.
