Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Primrose Hill”?
So it’s a bit different to our usual style but when we wrote it we knew we had to release it. It’s such a big song.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
It was inspired by an incident with Jack and a girl. The songs pretty self explanatory but it’s your basic heartbreak tune.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
This was a cold winters day on Primrose Hill asking people to tell us all about there heartbreak. Some were more willing than others.
The single comes off your new album Life of Sampson – what’s the story behind the title?
So we have a friend called Sampson and we loved the idea of this crazy character trying to work and play at the same time. It’s about that little voice inside us that says do it even when you shouldn’t.
How was the recording and writing process?
We wrote the songs over a six month period and took them out on the road first. We knew we wanted to release these songs cause they went down so well.
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than in your own?
I think we like to see how they approach it. There’s no point working with other people if you’re still gonna do your own thing.
What aspect of your life did you get to explore on this record?
Growing up a bit and exploring new relationships.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, were out on tour with Madness this summer and a few festivals.
What else is happening next in The Tailormade’s world?
We have a brand new single coming out at the end of June and we can’t wait.
