SWIMM PREMIERE NEW SINGLE “UH HUH”; DEBUT FULL LENGTH SENTIMENTAL PORNO OUT TUESDAY!

East LA psych rock outfit, SWIMM, returned today with the release of their Kickdrums produced new single “Uh Huh” via a premiere with Culture Collide. Already revered for their ability to blend massive pop hooks with innovative arrangements and a masterful command of instrumental layering, “Uh Huh” further cements the band’s reputation as a unique voice in the world of indie rock. The song comes only a week ahead of their highly-anticipated debut full length, Sentimental Porno, which will be released on Tuesday, June 5th. “Uh Huh” is a diverse, thoughtfully constructed psych pop anthem that is sure to draw the attention of fans of The Flaming Lips or the Pixies. You can stream it now on Soundcloud or Spotify and Sentimental Porno is available for pre-order here.

Chris Hess (Vocals/Guitar) comments about Uh Huh:

“Uh Huh” is a bounce-house-party version of a slacker-gen anthem.  It deals with that guilt that comes with being a night owl and working in an industry that is prone to late nights and late sleeping.  What do we miss in those early morning hours? What gems of knowledge are escaping us when we sleep through ‘The View’? This song is us sitting under the interrogating sheen of the Flolights and CBS morning camera lenses, across from Barbara Walters and asking her, “If I left behind the lifestyle I’ve grown accustomed to as a function of this wacky occupation, God, what would I be trying to prove?”

Hailing from the Space Coast region of Florida, Chris Hess (vocals and guitar) and Adam Winn (percussion and harmonica) released their first EP–Feel— in 2013. The following year, the two moved to Los Angeles in one of the most important moves of their life and began work on what would become their 2015 release, the Beverly Hells EP on 24West Records. Beverly Hells would go on to be named on of Buzzband LA’s EP’s of the year and received coverage everywhere from Noisey to Consequence of Sound and Nylon, firmly establishing the band amongst a much larger audience.

The city of Los Angeles is deeply woven into SWIMM’s story. Since relocating to LA, both the beautiful, open-minded side of the city and it’s sometimes vapid plasticity have served as muses for the band’s music. In its creative community, SWIMM’s Chris Hess and Adam Winn have found a family that has propelled them to push the artistic envelope at each turn in their story. They have even added two members of their Los Angeles family, Hany Zayan and Marton Bizits, to the SWIMM lineup. The band will be playing a hometown show on June 21st at the Teragram Ballroom alongside fellow Los Angelinos, The Fontaines. Tickets for that show are available now for purchase.
