Cornelia Murr Premieres “Tokyo Kyoto” Video, Debut Album Produced By Jim James Out 7/13

Los Angeles singer-songwriter Cornelia Murr is set to release her debut album Lake Tear of the Clouds on July 13; today she shared the video for the heavenly melancholic second single “Tokyo Kyoto.”

In an interview with Aquarium Drunkard, Murr reveals that the song was inspired by an unplanned pregnancy that she learned about while in Japan and later chose to terminate — “It’s a love song to an unborn person, as well as to myself and to anyone who has needed help loving themselves through that experience and lifting the shame that often goes with it.”

Lake Tear of the Clouds is out July 13 on Autumn Tone Records and is available for pre-order now.

Cornelia will be playing the Lodge Room in Los Angeles tonight, June 1, in support of Jerry Paper. She will also headline LA’s Bootleg Theater for a record release show on July 20.
