INTERVIEW: Dance duo Tears of Happiness

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We are amazing. Just having reached number 8 in the Music Week Commercial Pop Club Charts we couldn’t be better.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Lose This Feeling”?

We actually never meant to release this track.

Our close circle of friends however persuaded us otherwise.

The single actually summarises the ToH Project – From being in a not so great place and doing everything you can to remain positive and turn your life around.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Woke up one morning and thought “This is not the life I want to live, this is not the person that I am. Then made every conscious and sub conscious effort to turn things around.

We have certainly done that with our positive outlook on life and the musical journey we have taken as a duo.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

It was ironically great!!!

I (Bally) was meant to be demonstrated the lonely dark place I was in, and yet the cast around me were meant to be the complete opposite.

They were laughing, joking and having the time of their lives. I on the other hand had to keep a very straight and serious face.

Off-camera though I couldn’t contain my laughter as the cast and crew were so bloody funny.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was actually our first serious collaboration as a duo.

Something special was happening – we could both sense it..

We had no idea that 18 months later it would be a top 10 hit in the club charts.

How Rudimental and Coldplay has influenced your music?

We just love quality music and both acts have entertained the whole world.

I wouldn’t say they have influenced our music but they have definitely influenced us to be better musicians by being better people.

What aspect of hope did you get to explore on this record?

We as people to live in the moment and are really appreciate of anything positive that life brings us.

Hope is something you generally are looking for in the future.

We don’t look towards the future – we live in the moment.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Definitely will be releasing new material soon.

Our close circle of friends and music industry insiders are saying our new material is ToH best stuff yet.

I’m thrilled that we are getting better and not worse!!

Any tentative release dates or titles in mind?

We will re-launch our debut single within the coming weeks as we’ve now compiled some dance mixes.

Then we plan to release a brand new track called ‘Lift Me Up’ which we are all very excited about.

Any plans to hit the road?

No plans yet, but would love the opportunity if the demand was there.

What else is happening next in Tears of Happiness’s world?

Just ensuring we live life to the max and live without any regrets.
