INTERVIEW: Kid Bloom

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey we are doing great! Thanks for having us!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Parents House”?

Yeah of course, “Parents House” is kinda like “Dazed and Confused” in a song. It’s supposed to make you feel like you are in high school in the 70’s. It has that groovy retro vibe within a love song.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

For this song in particular, we were heavily inspired by the series Stranger Things.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, we actually have a video for “Parents House” coming out this summer so stay tuned! It was a really new and fun experience for us to shoot our first music video.

The single comes off your new album Lemonhead – what’s the story behind the title?

Well we don’t want to give everything away just yet, but the title will make sense VERY soon 😉

How was the recording and writing process?

The song was initially written in a decrepit, rundown mansion. Basically, a lot of dancing around a haunted house. It was then taken to Zach’s (lead guitarist) house to finish the recording process.

What is it about the 70s that you find so fascinating?

The 70’s are so romanticized musically. I love the music that emerged from that era; pure, honest, and groovy as hell.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

The songs and lyricsx off of our new EP Lemondhead stem from real life experiences. Each song reflects a different period or emotion that I’ve seen or felt.

Any plans to hit the road?

We hope to go on tour this year! You can stay up to date by following us on IG, Facebook, and/or Twitter!

What else is happening next in Kid Bloom’s world?

We will be at the Roxy with Fitness on June 12th here in LA. We will be playing some of the tracks off of our new EP! Tickets are on sale now at https://www.axs.com/events/354323/kid-bloom-fitness-tickets?skin=goldenvoice
