HALF THE ANIMAL Releases “Too Late”

Today, alternative renegades Half the Animal released their newest single “Too Late.” The song, which had its first look on Baeble Music, bursts with a disruptive pop crescendo and spirals out into a shimmery synth-driven chants – CLICK HERE to listen.

Half the Animal began as a reunion for lifelong friends Chase Johnson (vocals) and Nick Gross (drums), following a brief run in the Southern California punk scene a few years back. Joined by Dan Graham, the group immediately bared its teeth. Powered by sweeping synths, supersize hooks, wild lyrics, and a reckless spirit, the sound could be likened to a one-night stand between Coast Modern, Phantogram, and The Kooks narrated by The Wolf of Wall Street.

Half the Animal came out of the gate hot, making a mark independently with their 2016 debut single “Babylon” quickly generating over 2 millions streams as Billboard gave them early kudos – LISTEN HERE. Preceding a 2017 cross-country tour alongside Atlas Genius, the follow-up banger “Bad Bad Love” landed on Spotify‘s coveted “New Music Friday” playlist – LISTEN HERE.

Along the way, the boys crystallized their signature style in sessions with powerhouse songwriters and producers such as JKash [Charlie Puth, Maroon 5], Ammo [Mike Posner, Katy Perry]Captain Cuts [Walk The Moon, Icona Pop], and Sam Martin [G-Eazy, Jhené Aiko].

Half the Animal have a vision to approach altrock from a new angle. They want to capture the chillwave of 2018 with modern production, unique sounds, but with a rock n roll attitude, and memorable melodies that aren’t predictable; including lyrics that speak to the dichotomy of Chase – an exuberant, fashion-forward extrovert, who struggles with a reclusive demon-plagued vulnerability. This latest single embodies just that.
