Today, Vancouver, BC, CBC Searchlight 2016 Top 20 Under 20 Talent, pop/R&B singer-songwriter, Alexis Lynn releases her debut single “Promises,” available now via Spotify and all streaming services, internationally. Co-written, by 19-year-old Alexis Lynn and Ele Ivory, under song-writing mentor Chen Neeman (Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Zendaya) and produced by Daniel Simmons in Los Angeles, “Promises” features Alexis Lynn’s powerful vocals and song-writing debut.
“As a performer, singer, and writer, sharing a part of myself with an audience is nothing new, but releasing music to the public is completely foreign to me. For something that feels so long awaited, it’s equally exciting and terrifying letting the world know who I am,” says Alexis Lynn. “There has been so much hard work, dedication and passion put into this single, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. “Promises” is a modern pop/R&B blend with instrumental hip-hop undertones that brings a fresh sound to the scene.”
With an entrance of “wasting your breath, saying you’ll come through this time, no call or text and I just say it’s fine,” “Promises” transitions to an anthemic chorus with Alexis Lynn’s passionate vocals telling the story of being with people who make a lot of promises that they can’t keep. With lyrics like “but not this time around, I won’t let you let me down,” “Promises” details the power in taking back control and no longer being the victim to those who continue to hurt you with their lies.
