“Writing ‘Choirs’ was my way of dealing with the voices in my head: my own pressures and dreams, and the expectations and rules of others,” explains Ashe on the inspiration behind the track. “Acknowledging and accepting those voices’ presence, and knowing which voices to listen to, is a huge part of life. I hope people are inspired to embrace their weirdness.”
“The Rabbit Hole is a colorful trip into my head. People can expect to hear vintage sounds meeting modern, psychedelic ones,” Ashe continues, speaking to her debut EP. “You can expect to hear about the human condition, drug addiction, existentialism, and the all-time classic: love,” she concludes.
“Choirs” follows the successful release of her debut single “Used To It,” contributing to her 100 million streams, eight Hype Machine #1s, and her charting in the Top 10 of the Spotify Global 50 (CLICK HERE to listen to “Used To It” and HERE to listen to the stripped-back version). Recently announced as one of VEVO dscvr’s Artists to Watch for 2018, Ashe originally garnered international exposure as a songwriter and jazz vocalist from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music. Now, having collaborated with Louis The Child on “World on Fire” and “Right To It,” Ashe has toured with theChainsmokers, Lauv, Shaun Frank, Louis The Child, and Whethan, and performed with Big Gigantic at last year’s Coachella.
