Los Angeles-based duo Freedom Fry, composed of Parisian-born Marie Seyrat and Michigan-born Bruce Driscoll, are preparing to release their long-awaited debut album Classic on June 1st. In anticipation, the pair release their stunning new single “Cold Blooded Heart” via Culture Collide today. “We’ve both been in past relationships with people who were downright mean,” Freedom Fry comment. “This song explores our feelings on those moments from our past. The rollercoaster of emotions you feel. The urge to change them.”
“Cold Blooded Heart” follows the retro-influenced music video for lead single “Classic,” which topped the HypeMachine charts at #1 and inspired the band to produce a mini-podcast segment, taking a behind-the-scenes look at the song’s recording process. Listen to “Classic” Commentary here
Following a series of shows at SXSW and a gorgeous live session with KUTX, Freedom Fry will play a hometown show in celebration of record release on June 4th at School Night. Stay tuned for additional dates to be announced.
Freedom Fry’s music, which heavily bleeds the warmth and sunshine of their home state of California, skirts the lines between pop, folk, and alt rock and can be heard in over 50 films, shows, and commercials including Judd Apatow’s Love, Showtime’s Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy, and in high-profile ads for fashion labels such as Lanvin and Madewell. They have performed in Europe and throughout the U.S. with the likes of Stromae, Phantogram, and X Ambassadors as they continue to independently amass over 60 million streams to date.
