‘The Jack Powell EP’ effortlessly captures both the joy and melancholic sentimentality that etch songwriter and frontman Joe Banfi’s musical make-up. The EP features four songs, each with a unique exploration of loss and longing. If ‘Never Really Cared’ is a bitter declaration of rejection that defies convention of a break-up, then, ‘Future’ is a celebration and hopeful glance to the future it’s both emotionally poignant and uplifting.
