Reed Turchi has released the first single from his upcoming album Just A Little More Faith, widely available July 20American Standard Time premiered “Honey Honey” and previewed the album as “peak Turchi songwriting, moving away from covers and traditionals towards self-written material that is bluesy, heart-wrenching, and warm as the southern sun.” The North Carolina native is on tour now, having just played New York City and paid the Paste studios an energetic visit. Full list of dates is below.

Reed learned to play slide guitar firsthand from the last blues masters of North Mississippi (Kenny Brown, RL Burnside, Luther Dickinson), and has demonstrated that education across the US, Canada and Europe for the last eight years with his “Sun Ra meets Mississippi Fred McDowell” style. Whether it be with his blues rock trio TURCHI, duo with Italian guitar legend Adriano Viterbini, or with his post-nothing group The Caterwauls, tireless touring has earned this bluesy virtuoso a steadfast following the old fashioned way.

Just A Little More Faith boasts the lively and luminous instrumental improvisation that’s driven Reed’s career this far, with a newly attentive touch. At first listen, familiar vivaciousness with fill a fan’s ears, but at second, there’s masterful discernment to discover in these songs. He’s honed his heartfelt presence into an affecting catalog, equal parts emotive and visceral.
