The Word Alive have partnered with Loudwire to premiere their new song “Why Am I Like This?” with an accompanying music video. The new song comes after the band’s announcement of their fifth studio album, Violent Noise, and first single “Red Clouds“, which thematically revisits the band’s origins. Violent Noise is slated to release May 4 via Fearless RecordsDigital and physical pre-orders are available now, with each pre-order including an instant download of “Red Clouds” and “Why Am I Like This?”. Vocalist Telle Smith explains that “Why Am I Like Is?” is about “pursuing something that more than likely you know you shouldn’t or that might not be the healthiest choice for you.” He explains further, “The last two years I experienced making choices that took me further away from who I wanted to be, and I was living in the moment with no regard for how it would effect me or someone else. It’s about finding that person who is kind of the devil on your shoulder, and you want them to tell you what you’re doing is ok so you can rationalize it and justify it.” To read more and watch the music video for “Why Am I Like This?”, directed by McGinness of Enlighten Creative Studio, visit Loudwire.com.
