Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Fantastic! Lots of things happening with the band, we’ve been having a pretty good time with it all, thank you!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Lost Akathisia”?
Absolutely. It is actually our debut single and we are very happy to finally release it. It was one of the first songs we ever wrote for this band. Took us about nine months to get it out there. You could say it’s our baby.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Probably not a particular event, just life in general. It has a lot to do with all of us moving to London and looking for something meaningful to do with our lives. We found it in the band, but it could mean all sorts of things to other people.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
We’ve been trying to keep it a secret, but we just can’t hide it any longer. Check YouTube out and you will find your answers there!
How was the recording and writing process?
Loved it! Working with our producer Sean Kennedy was a great experience as he immediately understood what we were all about and we clicked really well. When we first started writing and working on the song, we didn’t really have a drummer, since Luca joined the band a few weeks after it was finished. We would use drum machines instead or practice with drummers who more or less came in just to jam with us, rather than being an actual part of the line up. Talk about tough beginnings!
Known for playing with different genres – how do you get to balance them together?
It just happens naturally. Each of us comes from a very different background as far as musical influences go, but we’ve managed to use it to our advantage. What usually happens is that Axi (guitarist) writes a bunch of ideas and then we get together and see what we can do with it. We like to keep it interesting, since getting up on stage and playing 10-ish songs that all sound the same is not something we want to do.
What role does London play in your music?
A major one. None of us are originally from London. We all met here, so Loud Mute Rage would not exist without this beautiful city. Thank you, London!
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Well, that’s classified info for now. But you can definitely expect something soon!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Hey, we’d tell you, but then we would have to… you know how it goes. We can promise it won’t be too long though!
Any plans to hit the road?
We’ve been playing shows for a while now and we don’t intend to stop anytime soon. Right now we’re looking to play some more outside of London and eventually do some gigs in the rest of Europe, too! There will be announcements, make sure to follow us on social media so you know what’s up!
What else is happening next in Loud Mute Rage’s world?
More new music, more gigs, more FUN! Everyone’s invited to join us!
