AXS TV Captures the Best of Punk Music From The Clash to Green Day This Saturday

AXS TV, the premier destination for rock programming, presents a day of plaid, Doc Martens, and attitude with a Saturday Stack lineup packed with profiles and performances featuring some of the genre’s most influential bands on April 21.

The day kicks off at 1pE/10aP with a Rock Legends two-pack, as the show takes a trip across the pond for an in-depth look at punk rock trailblazers The Clashwhose genre-defying sound revolutionized the booming rock scene; and then, puts the spotlight on chart-topping California punk trio Green Day at 1:30pE. Stay tuned for classic performances from two of punk’s most influential acts at 2pE, as The New York Dolls take the stage for a raucous set featuring “Jet Boy,” “Personality Crisis,” and more; and punk rock innovators Blondie deliver a powerhouse performance featuring signature hits “Call Me,” “One Way Or Another,” and “Rapture” at 3pE. Encore broadcasts of Rock Legends will follow at 4:30pE and 5pE, with Blondie re-airing at 5:30pE.

The night continues at 7pE, with iconic Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro in the acclaimed 2015 documentary Mourning Son, capturing his emotional quest for healing and closure as he recalls the night his mother was murdered and the impact that it had on his early life, throwing him into a deep web of depression and drugs. The block comes to a close at 9pE with Green Day in the 2015 documentary Heart Like A Hand Grenade, taking viewers behind the scenes and into the studio during the making of the band’s landmark seventh album American Idiot, as they enter the studio to record and discuss the music that would ultimately cement their status as true punk royalty.
