MATT AND KIM DEBUT NEW SINGLE “GLAD I TRIED”, NEW ALBUM ‘ALMOST EVERYDAY’ OUT MAY 4 ON FADER LABEL

Today, Brooklyn indie dance duo Matt and Kim release a brand new track “Glad I Tried” from their forthcoming album ALMOST EVERYDAY, out May 4th on FADER Label. Joining Matt and Kim on the track are guest vocalists Santigold, Kevin Ray (Walk the Moon) and Travis Hawley (Night Riots) as they count it down about living your best life.

ALMOST EVERYDAY was written during Kim’s extensive recovery after an onstage injury in early 2017 sidelined the band. Matt and Kim used that time to create one of their most personal albums to date, with writing beginning just one month after Kim’s surgery. Co-produced by Lars Stalfors and Matt Johnson, ALMOST EVERYDAY may be more introspective lyrically, but the sound is very Matt and Kim as it “mixes equal parts nuance and nostalgia while still remaining faithful to the infectious indie sound that made them famous in the first place” (College Times), “with lyrics that speak to living in the moment and holding on to what you have” (SF Weekly). Known for their explosive live shows, Matt and Kim are currently tearing it up on their headlining tour, proving that a year off has done nothing to slow them down as they turn every venue into a sweaty, happy dance party with fans along for the ride. Phoenix New Times hails, “with raucous live shows to match their uplifting sound, Matt and Kim are a quintessential modern pop sensation” and Nashville Scene praises their uplifting energy as, “a shot of vitamin D straight to the brain” while The Dallas Observer praises Matt and Kim live as “free-flowing shows that quickly devolve into mass parties.”

The band will be continuing to bring their energetic live show around North America including dates with Tokyo Police Club and label mates FUTURE FEATS. Upcoming stops include Houston (SOLD OUT), Chicago, Detroit, Brooklyn, Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival, Toronto’s Canadian Music Week and more (full list of tour dates below).
