Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey guys, it’s Shif here! Thanks for your time.

It’s a really busy and creative moment for us, I’m working with David and Kimbo to the next steps of the project.

Can you talk to us more about your song “Forget You”?

The singer and songwriter Boy Matthews had a key role for the song. I sent him the instrumental and the first time I listened to his topline I was impressed, the song was already almost done.

Did any event inspire you to write this song?

The event was the idea behind the whole project, to mix european and african cultures. I put some elements of afrobeat in dance and pop music, and the creative process of the song started.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

The video was inspired by the title and the lyrics of the song. We wanted to quote the film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”.

None of us was involved in the filming process. We’ll show our faces later, the only one you can see at the moment is David on the artwork of the single!

How was the recording and writing process?

Darei la stessa risposta della seconda domanda, la farei togliere…

How did you get to blend your European and African roots together?

I’m a big fan of afrobeat music and I am used to produce european urban music, so my thought was: why don’t mix these influences in a new project?

How does all of your influences and skills work together within your music?

I think the key word is coherence, it’s foundamental to let different influences and sounds work together. Everyday I mix my influences and skills to create new music, it’s really important for my creativity.

Was this all meant to be a movement or how did that come about?

Being a movement is something really complex, this is what we want to be continuing to create music, assets and involving more and more artists into the project. “Forget you” is only the starting point.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

A remix EP is ready and we are working on many more songs! You can expect a new single before the summer, and maybe other surprises.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

The remix EP will be out in April.

I can’t tell the title of the new single, or everyone will already understand what we are going to do 🙂

Any plans to hit the road?

New music and new contents with no-stops. It’s a basic rule artists have to deal with in today’s industry.

What else is happening next in DASHIKI´s world?

You have seen the drawing of the Dashiki mask, we are creating it physically and you will see some photos of the team soon!
